Have you enjoyed the stories on this website? Are you looking for more experiences? The free Venray Remembers app shows the past like you have never seen it before.
The first experience route in the app is available. There are 6 experience points on the cycling route ‘On the other side,’ a beautiful route between the War Museum in Overloon and the German War Cemetery in Ysselsteyn. You can recognise them by the unique bench with a rusty partition wall with a cut-out silhouette.
Download the free app and open the ‘On the other side’ experience route. Cycle the route and have a seat on the bench along the way. Follow the instructions in the app to project an augmented reality video in the environment at the indicated locations and become part of the story that took place there.
You don’t feel like cycling? You can also visit one or more experience points by car or by walking. They can all be found on the map in the app.
You have enjoyed the experience? More experience routes and / or experience points may follow soon. Keep an eye on our website and the app!
In addition to the financial support from our sponsors, the creation of experience points in the app has been made possible by:
> the historical input and images of the German War Cemetery in Ysselsteyn and the War Museum in Overloon,
> the constructive feedback and creative input of the Venray Remembers sounding board,
> the uniforms of Uniformverhuur Nederland,
> the creative and technical implementation of Dutch Rose Media,
> the war materials of Theo van Vught.
