From October 18, 2024, to February 16, 2025, the Venray Museum will feature the exhibition "Liberation and Evacuation, Still Relevant Today," commemorating the 80th anniversary of Venray's liberation.
The exhibition will highlight objects and related stories from the residents of Venray. It will also focus on destruction, evacuation, resistance against the occupiers, war graves, archaeological finds, trench art, fashion using military materials, and post-war conflicts.
Outside the museum, various activities will be organized on different dates. There will be guided walks in the town center and Sint Annapark, led by the Rooys Gidsengilde. You can also visit the air raid shelters on the St. Servatius grounds (Vincent van Gogh GGZ). In the Museum of Psychiatry, several interesting lectures will be given. Volunteers from the Carillon Foundation will regularly be present in the tower of the Grote Kerk, where the exhibition "For Heaven's Sake" on the destruction and reconstruction of the church and Venray is on display. There is also a special educational program for primary school students.
More information about the activities can be found here.
