In World War II, people lost their freedom. They were no longer allowed to go where they wanted. People were no longer allowed to express their opinion. Democracy was abolished. The Nazis also ruled the Netherlands. In Germany, people who disagreed with the government were locked up. Jews who had done nothing wrong were made enemies and were persecuted. That is war in a few words. In 2020, it was 75 years ago that World War II came to an end in Germany and the Netherlands were liberated. We do not want to forget that and together we have celebrated the return of democracy to Europe.
That is the reason behind this craft book Freedom. It is full of puzzles and stories of peace and freedom. What do you think? And what can you do to contribute to peace and freedom?
The craft book is available in a Dutch and a German version. Free copies of the book have been distributed at various schools and recreation resorts in North Limburg and Germany. Copies can also be purchased on the website of the Stichting Vredeseducatie. Both versions of the book can also be downloaded for free via the link below.
