From June 26 to January 9, 2022, the exhibition 'Venray Resurrected from the Rubble' about the reconstruction years after the Second World War can be visited in the Venrays Museum.
Due to the fighting between the Allies and the Germans during the liberation of Venray on October 18, 1944, many buildings were badly or irreparably destroyed. Many of these buildings have been restored or renovated. The community was disrupted, but she too showed its resilience.
The exhibition shows unique photos, objects and a special film about the period from 1946 to 1970. In this exhibition you visit the museum and the tower of the adjacent church.
If you buy an entrance ticket for the museum, you will also receive a walking route through the center in which the reconstruction of Venray after the Second World War is central. This walk is about 1.5 km and can be walked on your own.
A city walk through the reconstructed center accompanied by a guide can be booked by appointment through the tourist office. This walk costs € 3 per person and takes about one and a half hours.
