The Sint Petrus’ Banden Church in Venray is a Gothic church from the 15th century. The church tower was blown up by the Germans, which made the roof and vault collapse and caused major damage to the building. The church wasrestored in 1947-48. An exploratory presentation and an impressive film about the war damage and the restoration of the church can be viewed in the church tower, which can only be visited by appointment or at one of the fewoccasions where it is open to the public. Various guided tours and walks around the church can be booked at VVV Venray.
Near the church is a Liberation Route Europe Audio Spot, telling the story of the destruction of the church tower.
