Liberation Route Europe is a continuously growing, international remembrance trail, connecting important milestonesof modern European history. The route links the main regions along the advance of the Allies. Hundreds of audio spots enable you to listen to personal stories at historical locations along the route. This is the German war cemetery in Ysselsteyn, where Lodewijk Johannes Timmermans worked tirelessly for 28 years on the reconciliation between the Netherlands and Germany – even though he himself had been seriously injured by a German mine.
