Liberation Route Europe is a continuously growing, international remembrance trail, connecting important milestonesof modern European history. The route links the main regions along the advance of the Allies. Hundreds of audio spots enable you to listen to personal stories at historical locations along the route. This is the church tower of Venray. The Germans occupied the tower in 1944 to use it as a checkpoint. Eventually the tower was bombed. On the LRE website you can download the LRE app or listen to the sound clips.
