Liberation Route audio spot 119 Hattert Castle

Liberation Route Europe is a continuously growing, international remembrance trail, connecting important milestonesof modern European history. The route links the main regions along the advance of the Allies. Hundreds of audio spots enable you to listen to personal stories at historical locations along the route. This is the place where once Hattert Castle was located, but hardly anything of it is left. In 1944, a tank battle took place involving an American Armoured Division, and later a British Panzer and Infantry Division, who took on the Germans. The castle got completely destroyed. On the LRE website you can download the LRE app or listen to the sound clips.

You can read the story here.
