Liberation Route audio spot 118 Refugee

Liberation Route Europe is a continuously growing, international remembrance trail, connecting important milestonesof modern European history. The route links the main regions along the advance of the Allies. Hundreds of audio spots enable you to listen to personal stories at historical locations along the route. The village of Holthees had 420 inhabitants at the time. In 1944, it offered shelter to about 1,500 refugees from Overloon and the surrounding area. When Holthees was also bombed, residents and refugees were forced to leave the village. On the LRE website you can download the LRE app or listen to the sound clips.
