Liberation Route Europe is a continuously growing, international remembrance trail, connecting important milestonesof modern European history. The route links the main regions along the advance of the Allies. Hundreds of audio spots enable you to listen to personal stories at historical locations along the route. This is the place of one of the fiercest battles in the Netherlands during World War II. American and British armoured divisions fought against German tanks and troops, and on 12 October 1944, Overloon was almost completely destroyed by artillery fire and air attacks from the Allies.
